Rebecca Kulp
Rebecca is originally from the east coast, and grew up in Maryland. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a PhD in Marine Science. She also has a BA in Ecology and Evolution at University of Maryland, College Park. While in academia, she studied foraging behavior in crustaceans and worked on restoration initiatives in estuarine systems. Recently, she has been involved in hands-on environmental work with the goal of mitigating the impact of climate change in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Rebecca is passionate about developing each students critical thinking and investigative skills, and helping them apply the scientific principles to every day life. She has taught introductory environmental science courses at the college-level, mentored high school and undergraduate students through independent research projects, and tutored students one-on-one in biology, chemistry, and math. Rebecca was recognized for her dedication to enhancing student education with the Nuria Protopepescu Memorial Teaching Award at Stony Brook University.
When Rebecca is not teaching she can be found exploring nature through scuba diving, hiking, tide pooling or kayaking.
