Nancy Krivanka

Nancy has lived in Washington, Colorado and China, before moving to California. Nancy obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Psychology, a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology, a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Nursing, and a Master's Degree in TESL education. Nancy has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the state of California. While living in Boulder, Colorado, Nancy obtained a certificate to teach yoga. Prior to becoming a teacher, Nancy was a Pediatric Nurse. She worked on an acute care floor at UCSF, Kaiser and Children’s Hospital in Seattle, as well as Pediatric Hospice. She has been teaching for the past 10 years.

Nancy is excited about the opportunity to support learning that is both meaningful and enjoyable for the student. Her goal is to guide students to reach their full potential as an academic student, and as an individual who seeks to realize their dreams for life. Nancy encourages questions and critical thinking in her classroom. She enjoys individualized instruction because it allows her to get to know and understand a student. This allows her to create lessons that meet the particular learning needs of the student. Building a trusting relationship with the student is invaluable.

Nancy loves to travel, and has visited every continent, except Antarctica. She enjoys long distance running, having outdoor athletic adventures - hiking, Nordic skiing and kayaking, doing yoga, playing the harpsichord and reading a good book. By far, Nancy’s favorite activity is spending time with her son.
