  • Yes, students will need to bring their laptops to take the exam. SIL does not have loaner devices at this time. Please ensure your device is fully charged in preparation for the exam. Chromebooks are not allowed for AP Exams.

  • Because SIL has limited seating, we ask that each student only request the exams they are planning to take. This will reserve your seat. We do not offer refunds of the exam fees.

  • No, your fee at SIL includes all fees necessary to proctor the exam.

  • Register before November 15th. We will offer an extended window through the registration form. Please inquire about any urgent requests.

  • The digital AP Exams must be administered by schools according to the start dates and times on the official

    AP Exam schedule.

SIL will communicate the exact start time.

  • Please ensure devices are fully charged before the exam. If the internet disconnects during testing, students will still be able to progress through the exam with no disruption. And if a student’s computer runs out of battery, they can simply plug in, restart their device, and pick up where they left off—all their work will be saved, and they won’t lose testing time. However, with the back-to-back morning and afternoon nature of AP Exam scheduling, schools should have a power plan—either plugging in for testing or recharging between testing periods or ensuring that devices can be connected to power strips during testing sessions, if needed.

  • Bluebook requires Wi-Fi for students to begin and submit the exam. However, if the internet disconnects during testing, students will still be able to progress through the exam without disruption. Students’ answers are encrypted and saved on the device’s hard drive.

In case of a widespread internet outage for an extended period or another unforeseen issue that prevents automatic answer submission at the end of the exam, students will have up until 4 days after the exam to find an internet connection and submit their encrypted responses.

  • You can install Bluebook now. For installation instructions, go to

    Device Readiness.

  • Due to technology requirements, we currently do not offer Music Theory, Research, and most language exams. The form is accurate for the exams we currently offer. We are working on a solution and hope to provide these in the future.

We do offer AP Seminar, please add this request in the notes field if you are interested in this exam.

  • Students who have received approval for accommodations from the College Board SSD office generally don’t need to submit any additional requests. For example, a student approved for a human reader doesn’t require additional/new approvals to test using a screen reader with a digital exam. However, if a student needs to take a digital exam using a human reader or human writer/scribe, their SSD coordinator must submit a request in SSD Online for this accommodation by January 24, 2025.

Students receive specific digital exam formats enabled for their accommodation if they’re approved for extended time, breaks (extra, extended, breaks as needed), or if they’re approved for an accommodation that requires an accessible format of the exam; for instance, students approved for assistive technology or braille, will receive an accessible format that will be compatible with assistive technology such as screen reader software, voice recognition software, or refreshable braille displays.

  • No personal devices other than the required laptop are allowed during testing.

  • Student ID is required. This includes any form of identification with the student's photo and name printed on it.
