Antonio Avendano

Antonio was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. He moved to California in 2001 with his wife, and they are both teachers. He graduated from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla where he received a BA in Business with a minor in Marketing. He started his career in education in 2004 at De Anza College. Since then, he has been teaching and tutoring students that are at different language levels. Because of his experience, he feels comfortable teaching beginner students with no knowledge in Spanish or students at AP Spanish or college degree level. He encourages students to not only get immerse in the knowledge of the language but the culture. When Antonio is not teaching, he spends time with his family. He loves music and sports and especially enjoys watching soccer and baseball games.
