Claudia Holloway

Claudia Holloway holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from California State University East Bay, a Master of Arts in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University-SAIS, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Before transitioning to education, Ms. Holloway had a distinguished career as an economic analyst for the World Bank, a financial analyst for the City and County of San Francisco, and an internationalization engineer. Fully fluent in five languages, (English, Spanish, Italian, French, and German), she is a native Italian who has spent most of her adult life in California, having moved to the U.S. at age 18 for college.

Ms. Holloway’s teaching philosophy revolves around three core challenges: making mathematics engaging, accessible, and relevant. To spark student interest, she emphasizes mathematical intuition and logical connections tailored to their interests. She ensures accessibility by breaking down complex problems step-by-step and incorporating consistent practice before assessments. Drawing on her professional experience, she creates real-world problem-solving exercises that highlight math’s relevance and build analytical and decision-making skills. Ms. Holloway’s extensive teaching experience includes teaching Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus (Honor classes included), AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, as well as Post-AP Courses such as Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, Statistics, and Discrete Mathematics, at both the college and high school level.
