Apoorva Sahasrabudhe
Apoorva is an ecologist turned educator. Originally from India, she holds a Bachelor’s in Microbiology and a Master’s in Biodiversity.
As a researcher, Apoorva has done extensive field-based research in the Western part of India documenting the diversity of trees, reptiles, birds, butterflies, and wolves.
Her projects also focused on studying conservation policies, the livelihood of communities living around the forested areas, and the conservation of sacred forest patches. She has received young researcher awards for her contributions to the ecology field at national and international levels. In 2015, Apoorva spent several months in the Pacific Northwest learning about and implementing ecological restoration activities with an organization called ‘Earthcorps’.
She brings her passion for science and nature into her teaching. In the past, she has taught Sciences at middle and high school levels following the internationally recognized Cambridge Curriculum.
Apoorva considers building strong rapport and a research mindset within her students as an integral part of her pedagogy.
In her free time, she enjoys pursuing her love for classical dancing, cooking, designing modern art décor pieces, and exploring the beautiful wilderness with her family.
